Update: 4/28/2020I have had this camera installed and it has experienced severe rains. It’s still perfect. The camera is the favorite of all my cameras. I have some $600 Hikvision cameras and this is my favorite without a doubt.The PTZ can also be set to a schedule. It’s awesome because I have it setup where it goes on patrol every hours to do a check of the property. Also... don’t worry about only 4mp as I can actually read license plates and 8mp cameras can’t because the PTZ zoomed so well.I think this is great for residential and commercial.......This PTZ camera is identical to a Hikvision DS-2DE2A404IW-DE3 which is an amazing camera. The Hikvision sells for more than double the price of this camera. The camera can be used with or without an NVR. It is Plug and Play with a Hik-NVR too. Setup was a breeze.The PTZ function is extremely easy to use and fast. Night vision is great. Best part is the IR lights are hidden so it wont attract bugs like other types do.The wife loves that it is not massive like some other PTZ cameras on the market.I will be buying more of these and recommending them to friends and family. Stay safe!Update.. this thing has been through some tuff storms, and high winds. It’s holding up perfect and operates like new. I think this will be my go to camera for all PTZ needs. I have six of these and also a couple of the Hikvision-branded ones of the same model. This model is physically identical to the Hikvision one. I believe these are manufactured by HiLook, which is owned by Hikvision. The firmware is different than what runs on the Hikvision version, but menu items are very similar and these will work with the Hik-Connect service.The image quality during the day is outstanding. When it is dark, there are three groups of LEDs than can activate. There are also features like Slow Shutter that can be set in the menu options. I am still tweaking all the settings to get a good balance with day and night. It likely depends on how much ambient light exists in the evening for a given location.The PTZ functions work well and are very responsive. It is possible to go through the menu and increase the overall zoom beyond the 4x optical zoom to add digital zoom. I found that taking it up to 16x is about the max that can be useful.In sum, this camera is very equivalent to the same one that bears the Hikvision logo, but is available for a better price. I have no problem in recommending these based on having used them for over a month.

Using the iVMS-4200 Software on a Mac and the iVMS-4500 application on an iPhone, the camera showed up, required the change of the default password per the instructions/manual, but would not accept a change of its default IP address or even setting it for DHCP. This made the camera unreachable on my network and unusable by my SecuritySpy software. I can't comment on the quality of the image, control of the camera, or other camera features, since it would never allow user setup of network parameters. Returned after 4 days of frustration. May have been a bad camera, but not willing to risk a repeat with this product. Will try another camera.

Would be a great base line ptz camera at a good price, except for after the first light rain, the dome filled up with moisture and killed visibility. To make matters worse, Amazon could not reach the seller to fix problem. Would give more stars, if not for the lack if waterproofing.

I picked this for a demo for a customer and from the get-go, I felt like I was dealing with a $2000 ptz cam, here's why I say that. Unlike most cheap cameras when you plug this camera up it has an onscreen diagnostic system that goes through every facet of the camera. It makes it super easy to be able to see if there's any defects or issues for the camera and generally you only see this type of functionality in the high dollar high-end camera. I currently have it mounted outside which is another great feature of this camera that is it's an outdoor POE, PTZ camera ! I am thoroughly impressed with the night vision functionality and the optical zoom. If you're sick of looking at the same old cheesy old PTZ digital crappy zoom camera that you have, you might want to consider upgrading to this camera. It does work with blue Iris out the box, blue iris did auto found the camera without an issue also, super great value for what you get! Not your normal cheap Chinese stuff here which is nice to see.

Directly connected to the ip address the camera controls work fine. I have several Hikvision systems and the PTZ controls lag or either do not function at all. I will say they are relatively new and I have not had the opportunity to play with any settings to see if these functions can be corrected. The contrast of one camera changes infrequent but for the price overall they are ok.

Image is clear and shipping was fast.

Good camera but my Q-See NVR does not recognize it. I had to set it up through a separate POE switch on my network which makes for slow response. My other camera is picked up automatically by my NVR and has no lag.
