Great Read
Don't Lie to Me (Eva Rae Thomas Mystery #1) was a great read by Willow Rose. Sophie Williams went on a Girl Scout summer camp and she never returned home. Her body was found three months later inside her sleeping bag. The little girl was the most beloved surf idol. Another child, the son of a well known senator is also kidnapped. The parents receive a disturbing video. Eva Rae Thomas is a FBI profiler who just returned to her hometown. Her old flame Matt Miller is in charge of the investigation and asked for her help to solve it. I enjoyed reading this book and cant wait to read more by the author.

Page Turner with Twists
Don't Lie to Me is mostly written from the POV of the main character, Eva Rae Thomas. She's a recent divorcee, single mom, author and has left her job as an FBI agent. That is until her small home town needs her help to track down a killer/kidnapper. Eva Rae never could stay away from the crime scene, or from tracking down this person, regardless. The POV changes quite a few times, but is mostly in Eva Rae's POV, while the others are from two young boys and a preteen girl.I was immediately captivated by these other stories, some being in the present and some from the past.I would have liked to know more about a few of the characters and what happened to them, so I'm hoping they'll show up somewhere in the series.Don't Lie to Me is the first in a series, but can be read as a standalone.

Fantastic
I think I’m going to like Willow Rose’s “Eva Rae Thomas” mystery book series. I do hope the second book will be as good as the first one.

Overhyped
Found this in my recommended list and the premise seemed solid so I gave it a shot. It was a red flag that the synopsis screams about the thousands of five star reviews on Amazon - good books don't need to stoop to that level of desperation - and it turned out that was a sign of things to come.Nice concept, but things fall apart quickly. The writing style is clunky, with grammar issues and repetitive wording. Eva Rae herself is hard to deal with. I get the author's trying to make a point that she's going through a huge life change, but she's so disorganized and undisciplined that it's impossible for me to take her seriously as any kind of authority figure, despite the fact that she's built up as some kind of superhero. She does the Nancy Drew thing for a while, snooping around solo, until the local police come to her begging for her civilian aid - like they have no other resources and can't think on their own at all. Right. Then there's the big reveal of the killer at the end. No spoilers here, but it made zero sense. It felt like the author forgot who she wanted the killer to end up being as she was writing, and just picked the character she thought no one would guess. One of the worst reveals I've read in a long time.I hate to give up on a series after one book, so I'll probably try book 2. It's a 10 book series so I have to believe it gets better then this but I'm thoroughly underwhelmed so far. Three stars is generous for this. Five stars is ludicrous.

Divorce, Child Abuse, Murder -- CHILLING
Willow Rose has a way of creating characters that you love and hate. She keeps the chills running up and down your spine, and your eyes checking out shadows and dark corners. You might not want to be alone when reading her thrillers.Don't Lie to Me is the first in the series featuring Eva Rae Thomas and leads us into a world of child abuse, divorce and consequences. This installment is filled with subplots that are skillfully woven together. The storyline grabbed me from the start and kept me reading through every twist and turn with an ending I did not see it coming. The chemistry between the characters was superb! I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series! Eva Rae is an ex-FBI Profiler returning to her hometown of Cocoa Beach, FL, with her three children after her husband unexpectedly leaves her. She quit her job to take care of her children and all she wants is a chance to get her life and her children's back on track. Unfortunately, she isn't even unpacked yet when she finds the body of a child, then another one goes missing. Before she knows it, she's been asked to help the CBPD find the kidnapper/killer. The more they investigate, the more dangerous it becomes, especially for those Eva hold near and dear. Can they stop this person before it is too late? This would be a five-star book, except for some issues. Some of the transitional chapters were confusing, maybe better marking of the flashbacks. Also, I wasn't looking for errors, but did spot a number of grammar and spelling errors (Not that mine are great). So will give 4-stars for this otherwise stellar thriller. Would love to critique a future ARC.

Missing Children
Don't lie to me by Willow Rose is the first book in the Eva Rae Thomas Mystery Series. Willow Rose does not disappoint. I love everything I read by her, and this is no exception. Although it can be read as a standalone, I would recommend reading the complete series in order. You will get so much more out of it by knowing the background of each previous book. This is a thrilling suspense, full of lots of twists and turns. Eva Rae is trying to put her life back together after her divorce. She resigned from the FBI as a profiler and moved back home with her 3 kids. A child is missing and eventually found dead. Eva Rae ends up helping the Sheriffs Dept in the investigation. Soon another child, the daughter of a senator comes up missing. Can Eva Rae save her before it’s too late? This is a fast-paced, unputdownable book that will keep you reading into the night. It’s full of suspense, action and lots of drama. A very intriguing read. Thanks to NetGalley and Buoy Media for this free eARC.
