I have had the watch for a month or two now and its just amazing. I love the look and its now my everyday watchPlease read up on taking care of an automatic watch and how to set the date and time correctly without damaging the internal gears (Set it to 6 o clock to be on the safe side and never turn the dial backwards only forwards, set it to one day before and spin forward)It holds charge very well, on the first day i would just shake it for about 2-3min to charge it up!Watch videos and learn, they say a full charge on the spring will last 43 hours with no further windingIt's an automatic winder so it winds with movement; shake your wrist and you'll hear it windBut once again, its a beautiful watch and wait until you see it glow at nightUpdate: Had the watch for 1 year and a couple of months and its a true beauty. Can take a beating without getting hurt. You can polish the bracelet at home to make it look brand new again (use scotch brite green ones). In other words, I still love this watch as much as I did on day 1 and continue to wear it every single day. My watch is set at minus 3-5 seconds a day which is amazing!Update: Got the watch in January of 2016. Wow, almost 3 years now and I still wear it daily. Keeps great time (~-5 seconds a day maybe or better), has taken 2-3 hard drops and keeps on kicking. I do use a screen protector to protect my crystal as I'm an ICU nurse and lets just say I move a lot. I also wash this watch almost daily with lukewarm water and soap and it gets exposed to countless amounts of soap and hand sanitizer; great beater watch that I still wear to professional events after polishing the bracelet; looks new or near new.Update 10/10/2020: Been well over 4 years since I've gotten this watch, and I've worn it daily. I upgraded to a Seiko Sea Urchin, my dream watch, and will be putting this watch in my watch box. Great watch. Look forward to wearing it again soon to reminisce in the memories and struggles it got me through.

I have worn this watch everyday since the date of receiving it. I am a merchandiser for a major company, but I wear this watch every work day. This is truly a beautiful watch in its own way. From a distant glance it looks like an everyday quartz watch, but up close you realize it's a Seiko. The band is made up of folded pieces of stainless steel my skin will prove that) that is folded to make a link. Some reviews out there will say that this is cheap, but if they knew anything about watches they would know that this simply means that this is an everyday/sports watch band. It is very light, and very strong, and with all the parts inside the case a light band is much appreciated. This watch obviously has a few scratches here and there on the band, but it still looks beautiful and I still get compliments on it all the time. The crystal is very hard and has not gotten any scratches on it thus far. The longer I have worn it has actually improved how accurate the time is. Mind you this is a mechanical watch and that's my favorite part. I would highly recommend this watch to somebody that wants an automatic watch that looks great, but remains reasonbly cheap and light weight, but yet is very durable.

Do not buy this watch. It started by slow a min or two. Thought is was new need to ware it for several days. After a couple of weeks it is still the same. Now after two months the watch slows for 2+ hours if leave on the night stand over night. The return window has long gone. Do not waste your money on this watch.

This is my 5 year review.I never maintained it. Never replaced the gasket or recalibrated it. It still runs perfect. It runs 2-4 min fast every month. But if i took it in to get calibrated i bet it would keep its time.There are scratches on the glass but all minor. I have worked in hot kitchens the whole time i had this watch and abused it alot. I honestly thougjt it would die on me.I Love this watch, and seldom take it off not even for sports swimming or showers. I hope it lasts even longer. Now i am going to take care of it more and get new rings. No need for a smart watch.

I had this watch in my wish list, for many months, before purchasing it. I read most of the reviews, for all of these Seiko 5 watches. I felt this one particular model looked the nicest. I finally ordered one, and so happy that I did. This is really a sharp looking watch, suitable for dress-up, or casual everyday wear. I'm always getting complements on it. It does run a bit fast, like some reviewers stated. Perhaps a minute fast, every 3-4 weeks. It's a purely mechanical self-winder, and not a quartz or battery powered watch, so this is to be expected. I am totally satisfied with this watch, and would highly recommend it.
