The Common Sense Book of Baby and Child Care

I bought this for my daughter who is having trouble potty training. This was our bible for child rearing in the 80s. And thank god for Dr Spock. This is a great book for all new moms. Great shower gift.

Dr. Spock’s written word is everything you need for raising your children. I used it faithfully. We have two daughters, both are successful, happy, well adjusted young ladies. They are active in their church and community. Most of all, family comes first.

Dr Spock, still a great read and still great advice. This is the best selling book in the US (after the Bible, of course), updated by other doctors for the 21st century, but basically unchanged. This was an antique copy I bought for its historical value.

If you are a parent this book is a must

The product I ordered was the original edition of Dr. Benjamin Spock's 1946 "Common Sense book of baby and child care." The product I received is the much less exciting 1976 revised edition of the book. I am HUGELY disappointed. I specifically need the 1946 copy and was thrilled to find out that it was available for such a reasonable price. Original copies are not easy to come by, and as a historian, edition dates matter. I won't return this book because it's too much of a hassle, but I would never have purposely bought this edition. FALSE advertising. You should make sure your products match what Amazon is advertising them as. THUMBS DOWN!

Love it it really is worth the money

Great book to have. Dr. Spock gives advice in a very calm and supportive manner. He explains the issues and is not too preachy. Most of all, he empowers the mothers showing them that they can tell if something is off about their baby or not.
