Olympic - Large 40cm / 10.8in Handcrafted Wooden Chess Set Cherry Tree

The quality of the workmanship is very poor. The varnish is uneven and wrinkled on the pieces and the stain on the board is messy. Also, the wood used in both the pieces and the board is poor quality. For a little more money, I could have purchased a much better item and I wish I had shopped around more before purchasing this. I purchased this as a Christmas gift for my daughter-in-law and I think I’ll be embarrassed to hand it over. I’m self-isolating so can’t return the item. Very disappointed!

Pretty cheap quality, over spray on the colour on the board, and the pieces didn't feel very nice in the hand. As much as I'd prefer wood, I actually think at this price bracket i'd be better off buying plastic / cast pieces.
