Died after a few weeks
Firstly, I am editing my original review.Came with a smashed corner - this is for my office, so I am not overly upset. Had this been in my home, I would have returned it.After a few weeks in my office, this fridge just died. I contacted Amazon support chat. I had a lovely girl help me, and she assured me that someone from Proctor Silex would be contacting me since my Amazon return timeline is over. Needless to say, I never heard back from anyone after my initial phone call with an amazon rep.I eventfully contacted Proctor Silex directly for help. This is the reply I received - "We will be happy to assist you. Because your appliance is still covered under the limited warranty but is no longer available, we will replace with a similar one of equal or lesser value".GREAT, right??? Well, not really because they no longer sell mini fridges, and my options were small household kitchen appliances - none of which I need or want. So, I am stuck with a broken refrigerator

Perfect for a dorm room
Bought this for my daughter's dorm room and was worried that it would be too big and take alot of space or too small such that it couldn't fit enough food for her and her room mate but... it was perfect. Sits quietly in a corner and has plenty of room for weird college-girl Asian seaweed-based ice creams and such plus several bottles of water, soy milk, and half-empty food containers.

Solid fridge but questionable lack of protection for packaging of the unit that leads to smashed up corners or dinged doors/rear
I believe in having a small compact fridge. I know people who keep them in their garage or their office, and for me, we keep our Proctor Silex Compact Refrigerator in our garage.First, I'm going to talk about the positives before getting into the negatives. The positives is that this compact fridge/freezer has good amount of space to keep your beverages and frozen food in the freezer area. The fridge has an adjustable temperature control and you can also make the fridge open either way thanks to the reversible door hinge (which takes some work but not difficult). For the most part, after letting the fridge stand upright for nearly 12 hours (I read online, some say four, some say 24 hours but I decided to let it stay upright for 12), hours later the fridge got cold and that's a positive. So far, we are pleased with the mini fridge/freezer and we have a few Proctor Silex products, so we know they are a quality company.BUT this now leads to my negatives...This is badly packaged. The first time, our fridge came in smashed up. There is no adequate corner reinforcement, just thin pieces of styrofoam. This should have been adequately packaged with styrofoam that would protect the unit. In addition, there were pieces that we weren't sure what they were for. A big white plastic plate, which we found out is nothing but to make sure to hold the compressor and coils in place. The other pieces were just the cover for the reversible hinge but since that was broken off as well. The second is the lack of information online. Proctor Silex official website doesn't even list refrigerators/freezer, so was this a discontinued item? What this a rebranded item?I wanted to get more information on one key thing that people who have their compact fridge/freezer is how the unit will hold up in high temperatures or low temperatures. You can read information online for other companies and their fridge/freezer but nada on Proctor Silex. So, I found that disappointing.Overall, I give the fridge a thumbs up but I deduct a star for the lousy packaging/protection and lack of information on the product.

Nice Little Fridge, Cold, Spacious... but arrived with Dings
Like so many other reviews, I also have to report that my Proctor Silex Compact Fridge arrived with some minor dings and dents in it which I think were totally avoidable with decent packaging materials. It's not horrible, but it doesn't take too much to see where the damage is.That said, I've had this fridge in my work office for about a month now, and it's changed my life, especially as it's the middle of summer and I love cold beverages. I was able to stock a 12-pack of diet ginger ale, a 12-pack of Gatorade G2, and nearly a full case of 12-ounce water bottles in my fridge, and my hydration has been exemplary. And these beverages get icy cold; I did have to adjust the temperature over a period of two days because the G2s were turning a little slushy at the top, but since those tiny adjustments, the refreshments have been very pleasantly refreshing. It's also been fantastic to have my own little fridge rather than the community fridge in the hallway. I can offer visitors something of my own hospitality when they come in to my office, and when I arrive in the morning, there's plenty of room for my lunch, which I know will go unmolested by curious co-workers. :^) We had a party a couple of weeks ago for a coworker who was leaving us, and I was able to put a good-sized tray of deviled eggs in there for the morning (although I did have to evict some of my many, many beverages for those hours).I admit I have not yet used the freezer other than to make some ice cubes, and the ice cubes were awesome. I need to put some ice cream bars in there. Mmmmm. Ice cream bars.Aside from the injuries it sustained in transport, it is a very handsome little fridge. I also am using the top of it for shelf space for random things. Which I like, because if I'd done that at home, it would have driven my wife crazy. With a $155 price tag, I think it's a fair investment. It's a solid fridge. Really, the lone star removed from this review is for the very fixable shipping damage. I would certainly recommend the product, but would be skeptical of buying it until an additional level of packaging is added.
