Learn Dari: Your First Dari Words, Conversation, Reading and Writing, Grammar, and Vocabulary Paperback – 19 Sept. 2015

Really good book for beginners and intermediate level. Grammar explained clearly. Good exercises to follow.

This book works well as a tool to learn Dari. It is very easy to follow and progresses nicely. You quickly build up a basic vocabulary which is then used to learn reading, writing, and grammar. The explanations are easy to understand and the exercises are really useful. BUT there are two important things missing. Firstly, it is lacking a glossary with transliteration, so you need a good Dari/English, English/Dari dictionary to go with it. Secondly, there are no keys to the exercises. I have a lot of Dari speaking friends, but they all eventually got a little tired of questions like: "So how would you say, Your daughter's black cat?". Even so, I would still recommend this book, as it really is one of the clearest Dari (Persian) books for beginners and you learn a lot from using it.

Definitely recommend easy to learn great book

The book arrived in good time and I'm working my way through it slowly. However, I cannot get the accompanying CD to work, which makes a complete language learning experience difficult. Really disappointing as the book is great and easy to use, I'm really enjoying it apart from that.
