this movie is a delight ~ i was unsure what to expect after reading the other reviews, but decided to take a chance bc of Anna Kendrick's consistent comic greatness. it is not a straight up romance, comedy, or drama...it combines all elements to reflect a genuine picture of imperfect/awkward interactions that happen when you throw a group of barely connected strangers together at a pretty intimate gathering like a wedding. it occurred to me that this movie really resembles an intergenerational/ life stage Breakfast Club set @ the wedding reception reject table. worth your time

....the same party, no matter where you sit.
Really lovely. Don't believe other reviewers that say it's a waste of a watch, especially if they say they didn't even finish it. I laughed, especially at Stephen Merchant's character, and ultimately was satisfied with the ending. Seems like a cookie cutter romantic comedy but their are a few twists I didn't see coming from just watching the trailer. June Squibb was also wonderful in this. The best movie I've rented in a while. :)

like many of us (I am a proud Table 19-er) ...
I started Table 19 as background noise while I was working and ended up ignoring an afternoon of expense reports to watch this charming and clever film. The characters are flawed, awkward and endearing...like many of us (I am a proud Table 19-er) and the story meandered between sweet, sad, sexy and laugh-out-loud hilarious. I don't remember off hand who wrote or directed the film but it was absolutely wonderful and I highly recommend it.

Wonderful, quirky characters and some major twists
This movie has so-so reviews. People had said things like "it's just not funny", etc., but I really like Anna Kendrick and I have enjoyed movies from the rest of the cast, too, so I gave it a shot. It was quite a surprise.I don't want to go into details too much, because the best part of the movie - aside from the acting and the characters - is the surprise of it all. Nothing is as it seems and there are a number of plot twists - yes, a number! - I didn't see coming. Knowing anything surrounding that would probably ruin the charm of the film so...That said, this movie is about the hodgepodge group of people who are at the end of the list of guests at a reasonably sized wedding. They all briefly introduce as relatively "unimportant" guests, and over the course of the movie we also see some backstory into each of their quirky and/or somewhat sad lives. As you are woven into the story you empathize with this people and get carried along the other story of the wedding party, and Anna's character in particular. The other guests of table 19 band together to help Anna's character and in doing so become much more endearing to the watcher. This is where the plot twisting begins and so this is where I leave you but here are some additional thoughts:This movie is not necessarily laugh out loud comedy - but I laughed loudly at a number of places. It's not average comedy humor. It's a little more subtle or awkward. It's the humor of being yourself when you aren't close to the norm, or laughing at what happens when you take a few of life's unlucky turns. Seeing humor in life's misfortune. This movie is heart-warming, but it is not your average romance or drama, though. I don't want to give away too much, but over the course of the film you really come to care for the whole table of "weirdos".If you don't mind a slightly slower pace and a very toned-down or alternative look at what a romantic comedy can be I think you may like this movie. I personally do not consider myself a typical romantic comedy movie buff by any means, but I like movies that make me feel and I like offbeat characters, so this quirky movie appealed to me.Other films I enjoy that have a very indirectly related feel are Wes Anderson flicks - quirky characters, sour grapes family lives, the youngest member of the table's past film work, if nothing else. If you like Napoleon Dynamite you may like this movie with it's down-trodden characters. If you like Anna Kendrick, I don't think this film will disappoint if you can relate to the odd person and enjoy the slower pace of the film.If anything I have said peaks your interest - at least try it. I was pleasantly surprised with this film and that doesn't really happen all that often.

The cutest movie!
I was waiting for this movie to come out for a year before it did, and the movie did not disappoint. Anna Kendrick is just such a great actress and they have other good comedians as well. It’s very cute. I think I would call this genre border line romantic comedy with some real emotional drama. This movie deserves more credit.

Great cast, fresh story, and lots of laughs
The humor in this movie is great! Yes, it's not a laugh out loud the entire time/slapstick movie, but it's got laughs throughout from a great cast of on-point comedic actors, and has a touching story line. It manages to be comedy, drama and rom-com at the same time. Loved it!

Best chick flick this man has ever seen!
Table 19 is a beautiful film! From an amazing cast to the most original romance story I've ever seen. This one is highly recommended. Every character was perfectly cast. My wife and I love Anna Kendrick anyways, but the rest of the actors really added a lot. I think Craig Robinson and Lisa Kudrow kinda stole the show here. The lady playing Nanny Jo will steal your heart and the the other 2 at the table will seriously make you laugh. The direction and cinematography was very professional and the 80's sound track was the icing on the wedding cake! There are some serious LOL moments that you just won't see coming. The story is full of twists and turns and yet somehow feels like a real story playing out in front of you. Wedding films have been done to death, but never have we see one that told the story from a guests perspective. The wedding party doesn't even make an appearance until halfway through the story. Instead we see a table of people that look like any one of us, getting invited to a wedding that they really didn't want to go to. We've all been there.I'm a man that generally hates romance movies but I fell in love with this one. If you're looking for a feel good movie this is a must see!

Enjoyable way to pass an evening
I really enjoyed this film. It's not really a laugh out loud comedy or even particularly romantic, except in a very alternative romance kind of way towards the very end. It is, however, very believable and relatable. The casting of the people at table 19 is perfect and you quickly feel like you know enough about each of them to feel empathy for where they currently find themselves in their lives. If you enjoyed 'Death at a Funeral' (2007) and 'The Proposal' (2009) then I think you would also enjoy 'Table 19'.

Saw it on TV and wanted to own a copy
Watching this film for a second time, or perhaps because we have a decent DV D player, it was easier to follow the very fast dialogue..... Well worth buying and really enjoying this slightly strange film. Stephen Merchant is a STAR!!

A comedy film
Although a comedy film, only slightly funny in a few places for me. Not a film I would want to watch again, BUT, we are all different, it takes allot these days to make me laugh. The purchase of this film was good and prompt delivery service, I would recommend this seller.

Good film
This is a pleasant film with light comedy. You get to know the individuals and why they are all on Table 19 at a wedding reception.
